Myanmar Diaries

This year's Taiwan International Documentary Festival (TIDF) features a special section titled "Metaphor of the Times: The Reality Named Myanmar," showcasing a total of 26 Myanmar films. Among them, "Myanmar Diaries" was created by multiple Myanmar directors. All participating actors remain anonymous and are filmed without showing their faces. The film is composed of several stories interspersed with documentary footage, capturing the changes in people's lives and the chaotic, oppressive atmosphere following the 2021 coup. Three years have passed since the coup, and it is no longer the focus of international media attention. However, Myanmar still faces a severe humanitarian crisis, with countless people displaced and thousands losing their lives. After watching the film, I deeply felt a heavy sense of helplessness. At the same time, I have great respect for the directors and actors who strive to convey their ideas through filmmaking amid the chaos. I highly recommend this film to those interested in Myanmar's issues!
